Copywriting makes use of consumer psychology to persuade people to take action. John E. Kennedy called copywriting “salesmanship in print.” The media have changed, but copywriting is still about selling.
I create brand-relevant website copy that engages and compels. It’s harder to do (and more costly) but you won’t drive readers away with the same old, same old. I can also build a skeleton site so you see the copy in place.
Traditional print media (direct mail, brochures, etc,) are useful tools for breaking through digital clutter. And, if you are launching a new product, traditional marketing is one way to create market awareness.
I write the content for applications. I work with apps under development to refine and clarify the voice. I also work with startup apps to help the development team clarify the flow of information and steps from a user’s viewpoint.
I try to do at least one free project a year for a charitable cause related to homelessness or mental illness. I choose to help the homeless and the mentally ill because they are the most vulnerable and stigmatized people in our society.
